Oopsie doopsie!

Forgot to post again. I've been a little busy with other things so to the 4 people that read this thing, my bad ya'lls.

So today's show is gonna be all synthy, lots of techno soundin' stuff. So here's a lil taste of "Unce Again, With Feeling":

What's really cool about this weeks show is the two new song premieres! First off is Passion Pit, who I've just recently picked up and LOVE.

And Second is off of Destroyer's new EP, "Bay of Pigs." A thirteen minute long magilla, with a haunting techno refrain. Should be promising!

Also, my Media Monday suggestion would have to be Passion Pit. They're brand spankin' new, and a bandwagon everyone should be hoping on.

The Insanity Level is Off the Chart!

Topless Robot was completely insane in the membrane today. It really took me for a spin.

There was an Awesome New T-Shirt
The greatest Craig's List ad I have EVER SEEN
Yet another reason for me to wish I owned an iPhone
And... and then.... then there was this...

A small piece of me died today...

I missed Monday

Sorry about the no update, though I can see from the staggering ZERO COMMENTS that I'll probably get away with people complaining about late posts.

Anywho, to fill in for Media Monday, I just want to mention that everyone should go out and buy Cut Copy's newest album, as well as they're older album. They are great Electronic Rock fun, and new wave fans will finally have something other than Take On Me to add to their music listening repertoire.

Pics or it didn't happen:
Also, tonight's another great show. We are going to focus on the more ROCK OUT aspect of mi musica. Bands tonight include: Porcupine Tree, Mars Volta, Mastodon, and Eagles of Death Metal. Tune in, or be a total lame-ass and don't.

We love ya!

What do you want for dinner?

JUSTICE

With a side order of pure awesome. This week, Topless Robot posted a most epic video in hilarity. It appears to be a young lad with the uncanny ability to mimic Christian Bale's much disputed take on the "tough" Batman voice. What makes this video are three things:
  • Chubby faces that don't fit in masks
  • A very awesome mother who knows how to take a few blows to the head
  • WHY DO YOU WANNA KILL ME?!!! WHYDOO WANNKILL MEEE?!!! WHUHLALUHLUH LOOAHLLUHLUH???!!!!!

Enjoy.
Also, it snowed today. WTF nature?!

  1. kur.kutztown.edu
  2. service electric Ch. 24
  3. Hometown Utilicom Ch. 28
  4. 88.3fm 1670am
Yeah, I'm not 100% sure on how I want this all set up yet. I want to talk about the playlist, but I don't want to reveal the whole thing before the show tonight. Guess I'm gonna play it by ear! Ah ha? Get it? Cuz I'm on the... radi... o.

Shut up

Just In Time For Downfall consists of several songs directly pertaining to what was going on in my life at this time last year. It was a strange journey, and in a way I'm trying to recreate those months in my life now because they were so spectacular. Think of the list as a narrative starting from Sept. 08- Dec 08:
  • "I Need You", Relient K: Regular listeners of my show know about how often I play this band even though they are labeled as christian. Still, Matt Thiessen, RK's lead singer/ songwriter, is clever enough, or just plain intuitive in changing any words like "Jesus" and "God" with "you" and "me" (a reversal of the Cartman Plan). He remains ambiguous enough in his lyrics that you don't get distracted from the fun, fast music. Also, he's quite a clever lyricist. I kick off the playlist with all the energy bundled up from the summer past which, of course, is just full of angst! ANGST! yay
  • "Kids", MGMT: My cat had a bunch of kittens... again. And my roommate and I decided to keep them until they were old enough to give away. They lived under our couch, so coming home was fun cause you'd be ankle deep in kittens. A friend of mine had just gotten married, so I thought it was kinda cool that the next step in life after marriage is a baby in the baby carriage, and here I was wading in that.
  • "Unforgettable Season", Cut Copy: Filled with all the anticipation of being in the fall, my love life takes a strange turn as I struggle to figure out what it's all about. It's a stupid human mindset thing, but the song stretches the innate feelings of confusion during that time.
  • "??", ??: I don't wanna give it away, but it's pretty close to my heart, and the friends this song brings up stay with me for far longer than a high school memory should. Sometimes on My Show, we just like to have some fun.
  • "Don't Tell Me To Do The Maths", Los Campesinos: I really got into Zombies over the summer, and around this time in the fall I was playing Humans vs. Zombies. The song is kind of a cop-out, so... effin... whateverrrrrr.
  • "Crying", TV On The Radio: This song's pretty deep or something, I dunno. I just remember it in the context of this mini-road trip I took. Cop-out numbuh 2!
  • "Now I'm a Fool", Eagles of Death Metal: This song is the last in a series of four describing my trip with a friend of mine. I went to Ohio to visit another friend and ended up finding a lot more there than I'm willing to get into. If you listen to the lyrics, you might decipher the story... excluding "Crying".
  • "Blue Hawaiian", Pavement: With the semester coming to an end, I picked up Pavement on a hunch, and this particular song emphasized the cyclical nature of life. It just kinda felt like an foreign comfort, I'd never heard the band before, but they felt so right. Clever thoughts serpentine through the song, and it felt like the start of a new phase.
Alright, that was long and boring. If you guys wanna chat about this at all, leave the comments below, or come find me cause anyone reading this either lives with me, or goes to school with me.

HINT HINT: I love talking about music, mofos.

Otherwise, tune in and enjoy the show tonight!

Gettin' it started

So I caved in and started my own newsletter. I had my reasons though:
  1. Bandwagon, AHOY!
  2. facebook groups suck
  3. I'M BORED
I really wanted talk about the playlists themselves. Every show now focuses around the music portion of My Show, as opposed to the talking aspect. For now, I'm a very busy student so putting a show that hits all the bases is pretty hard. It's up to the audience out there to decide what they get out of the music. Each list I present is made up of songs that tell a story. I think that's why I started the site: just wanting people to know about the playlist narrative.

Anyway, enough artsy shit. Let's talk about some other stuff:
  1. Mondays: Media Mania! I'm gonna report on any random media that I'm being part of at that time. It could be anything! New Family Guy episode review? Maybe I'm watching The Darjeeling Limited for the 40th time and you need to hear about it! Wahay!
  2. Tuesdays: My Show Update! It's show night, the perfect time to talk about the playlist.
  3. Wednesday: Whatever Wednesday! By this point in the week I've already lost interest in everything cause it's FUCKING WEDNESDAY, so I'm just gonna post whatever.
  4. Thursday: Topless Robot Day! Yep, my blog is so pointless I'm going to talk about TR and all the awesome things that go on there.
  5. Friday: Good Luck getting up that day! If you're lucky, I might update... or sleep.
Let's see how this goes...

oops!

how did this get here?
i am not good with internet
